Andrew John Wardle released his first novel ‘Saturation Point’ in 2015. Currently working on his second – ‘Writings On The Wall’ he believes that many things are hidden in plain sight.
Corruption and the destruction of man and nature are the focus of his novels with the answers to the question ‘why’ always at the forefront of his work. We caught up with him to ask him a few questions about his motivation for becoming an author and about his writing.
Q: When did you first realise you wanted to be a writer?
AJW – When I realized that we weren’t being told the truth by the mainstream media or government.
Q:Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
AJW: The news and by this I don’t mean mainstream propaganda media, although the internet is the source of most of it, but current affairs, social media, as well as past experiences.
Q: What was one of the most surprising things you learned during creating your book/s?
AJW: If you have good characters then they literally come to life and start to take on a life of their own.
Q: What inspired you to write your first book?
AJW: Corruption and the destruction of man and nature.
Q: What was the hardest part of writing your book?
AJW: Character development.
Q: Did you learn anything from writing your book and, if so, what was it?
AJW: People don’t like bad or disturbing news.
Q: Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special?
AJW: Nurse Betty has many faces for many people and she is prepared to go to any lengths to protect her sister. She is the only remaining member of her family, having lost both her parents to illness at a young age. These lengths include physical combat which is something Nurse Betty is accustomed to through her work on a male forensic ward. Nurse Betty is extremely strong both mentally and physically, attributes which make her highly desirable to many men.
Q: Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character/s from your most recent book?
Q: What is your favourite book and why?
This is a difficult question as I have more than one favourite book depending on the mood I am in. The books I have read the most are the ‘Lord of the Rings Trilogy’. I can relate strongly to Frodo!
Q: Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Again this is a difficult question. I would probably have to say, Charles Dickens. His characters and stories are all amazing and a delight to read once accustomed to his writing style.
And finally …
Q: Do you have any advice for other writers?
AJW: Write. Write and write some more!
